Current Power is an industry leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of advanced power and automation systems for the marine industry, including switchboards, generator controls, battery energy storage systems, variable frequency drives and vessel automation. Our staff of experienced engineers and technicians work closely with our customers and suppliers each step of the way throughout the entire lifecycle of each project, from establishing initial requirements through final acceptance testing on the ship.

We manufacture switchboard and generator control systems that are designed for safety, reliability, and maintainability. All designs, fabrication and testing are done in-house to ensure top quality while minimizing turn-around time. Our high-power systems, built to customer specifications, are fabricated to meet the requirements of the environment, marine classification societies, and electrical standards. Typical controls include those required for synchronizing parallel generators, load sharing, and power management for all the major engine and generator manufacturers.

Strategic usage of onboard battery energy storage systems can lead to significant reductions in fuel consumption and emissions. Current Power offers advanced technologies that can help our marine customers increase their operating margins while achieving environmental targets.

We manufacture high-power motor drive systems that are designed for safety, reliability, and maintainability. All designs, fabrication and testing are done in-house to ensure top quality while minimizing turn-around time. Our modular designs are air or water cooled and typically are supplied with digital controllers programmed to suit specific applications including thrusters, cranes, winches, pumps, and cutters.

Our Vessel Management Systems utilize advanced PLCs, I/O modules, HMI touchscreens and other state-of-the-art technologies. Operated from the bridge using simple and intuitive-to-use graphical interfaces, our automation systems offer a wide variety of functionality, including power management, cargo handling, ballast control, and alarm/data/event logging.
